Audrey Adams
Audrey spent the first 36 years of her professional life in a series of progressively more responsible positions with US Customs and Border Protection. Starting as a US Customs Inspector at JFK airports upon graduation from Purdue University and ultimately serving as District Director of Customs in Laredo, Texas, Director of Field Operations in Los Angeles, California. She was responsible for all customs activity at LAX and the Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport and as the US Customs attaché in Brussels, Belgium representing the US government to the EU and the World Customs Organization in the aftermath of 9/11. She retired as the Deputy Assistant Commissioner for International Affairs, the career senior official responsible for all of Customs international activities. Post retirement, she became an international border management and border security consultant, primarily in the Middle East working in Jerusalem for both USAID and the United Nations Office of the Quartet focusing on trade related aspects of the Israeli Palestinian conflict.
She and her partner, Professor Emeritus Dr. Jon Morris, divide their time between Gainesville and Las Vegas, NV. Audrey has a long history of philanthropy, supporting both Jewish and secular causes such as the Jewish National Fund and Jewish Federations of North America. Jon joins her in her pursuit of Tikkun Olam, hoping to use their collective experiences and resources to enrich the Jewish Communities in which they live and promote peace and prosperity and Israel.
