Bruce Greenberg

Bruce was born in Brooklyn, New York where he attended Yeshiva Ateres Yisroel. He was raised in Staten Island, NY and Flemington, NJ before moving to Madison, Wisconsin to attend college. While at the University of Wisconsin, Bruce studied Accounting, Economics and Finance with a minor in Jewish Studies and later attended Nova Southeastern University receiving his MBA.

Bruce has been an active member of the Jewish Community his entire life. He has served on the Board of Directors of many Jewish Organizations. Among them are Beth Israel Center in Madison, Wisconsin where he also served as President of the synagogue during a major renovation project, Hillel Foundation at the University of Wisconsin and currently at Arizona State University, and Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach Counties and the Jewish Federation in Madison, Wisconsin where he was also a previous young leadership award recipient.

In Florida, Bruce has been active at the Jewish Federation of Broward County where he currently serves on both the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and has previously served as Board Member and Past President of Orloff Central Agency for Jewish Education (CAJE). Bruce has served on the Boards of Directors of his synagogue, B’nai Aviv and Chabad of Weston and has also been a Godparent for JAFCO.

Jewish Education has been a long-time passion for Bruce. He has both taught and written curriculum for the Reform Movement for over twenty years where he also served as both Youth Group Director and Bar/Bat Mitzvah Tutor, taught and served as Chair of the Judaica High School in Madison, Wisconsin, and has taught at Judaica High School of CAJE. He currently teaches at the Institute for Jewish Knowledge and Learning (IJKL) for lifelong learners in Broward County and has served as a Donor and Advisor to the Center of Jewish Studies at the University of Florida and Arizona State University. At B’nai Aviv, Bruce has been instrumental in raising funds for our youth groups by sponsoring the youth concert series bringing such notables as Sam Glaser, Craig Taubman and Debbie Friedman Z’L, to B’nai Aviv. Recently he received his Master’s degree in Jewish Studies and is currently working on his Doctoral Degree at Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership.

When not serving the Jewish Community, Bruce has built and sold a number of Health Care Companies. He has recently retired from active business but currently serves as Executive Chairman of Symplast Acquisition, Inc. and he sits on the Board of Directors of a number of health care organizations. He is a consultant to a number of organizations in the areas of succession and strategic planning for closely held firms.

Of all his achievements and activities, Bruce is most proud of his six children ages 20-32 and hopes that they carry on his passion and commitment to Judaism.
