Samuel Rosenthal Professor of Judaic Studies at Case Western Reserve University. Author of Jews in Post-Holocaust Germany, 1954–1953 (2005) and The Scholems: A Story of the German-Jewish Bourgeoisie from Emancipation to Destruction (2019). His edited volumes include Three-Way Street: Jews, Germans, and the Transnational (2016) and Rebuilding Jewish Life in Germany (2020).
