The Jewish story is facing unprecedented challenges at US universities. The Bud Shorstein Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Florida represents integrity in a time of adversity. Our excellent faculty offer everything from a fine Hebrew language curriculum, to top programs in Holocaust Studies and Israel Studies, to study-abroad programs, to undergraduate and graduate research opportunities.
By investing in the Shorstein Center, you will maintain the academic study of the Jewish story at a most critical moment. You will also enable students to undertake potentially life-changing work, as they immerse themselves in authentic Jewish thought, literature, and history.
Join us in our mission. Together, we will continue to enlighten, engage, and inspire.
I am thrilled to have been awarded the Samuel and Bessie Proctor Scholarship to complete research on the artworks and roles of three women artists in French internment camps during World War II. With the support of this award, I was able to travel to Paris and see the artists’ archived works. I hope to bring a new understanding to the role of art as a tool for documentation and resistance. I am incredibly thankful for the support I received from the Shorstein Center, without which I would not have had such an incredible opportunity!
